Quick Stick Cricket

The game is played only by keyboard where the player who controls the batsman is required to hit the correct key at the right moment. So basically, timing and good intuition is all you need show on this cricket court. This is by far one of the simplest single-screen cricket games with minimalist graphics and lack of any options, but it runs flawlessly and it's sort of addictive in a way.

How to play

There are only 4 strikes or moves that you are allowed to do.
By pressing 'down arrow key' your batsman will duck. That could mean a lot of things in cricket, but basically he makes a squat and gets to a crouching position. The ball might bounce off the bat, but that would be rather defensive strike which never earns points. Furthermore, a 'duck' in cricket also means getting out of zero, so basically it refers to batsman's dismissal.
To 'pull and hook' press 'left arrow' key. Pool and hook should be played when the ball bounces off the ground to the waist height.
To preform a straight-batted shot if the ball travels towards mid-off you should press 'right arrow' key. This is called 'offdrive'.
For a forward defensive shot you must press 'up arrow' key.

Usually you don't have time to think about what your next move should be. The strike is played instinctively. Sometimes you do good, and sometimes you miss. After each strike, a scoreboard table pops up, displaying all kinds of stats such as bowlers' names, numbers of runs and balls, whether you were bowled or caught, but it also shows other data such as run rate, current score and big hits.
